Lettuce – Mixed

Grow your own fresh, colourful salad garden with this Mixed Lettuce blend. This carefully selected mix combines a variety of tender leaf lettuces in shades of green and red, offering a balance of mild, sweet and lightly crisp flavours. Ideal for home growers, it provides a continuous supply of fresh leaves perfect for salads, sandwiches, and garnishes.

Mix typically includes red and green oakleaf, romaine, red and green Coral lettuce, butterhead, and crisphead lettuces

Mixed lettuce is quick to grow and thrives in cooler weather, making it an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced gardeners. Harvest young leaves for a “cut‑and‑come‑again” crop, or allow plants to mature for fuller leaves with added texture. Each sowing delivers a diverse harvest with excellent flavour and visual appeal.

🌿 Why You’ll Love It

• A varied mix of leaf lettuces for colour, texture & taste
• Fast‑growing with repeated harvests
• Perfect for garden beds, raised beds & containers
• Great for baby leaf or full‑size harvesting
• Ideal cool‑season crop for spring and autumn

🌱 Growing Tips

• Sow shallow: Lettuce seeds need light to germinate—scatter on the surface and cover lightly. Keep soil moist until seedlings emerge.
• Succession sowing: Plant a small amount every 2–3 weeks for a steady harvest rather than one large crop.
• Cool conditions: Lettuce grows best in mild temperatures. In warmer weather, provide light afternoon shade to prevent bitterness and bolting.
• Harvest often: Snip outer leaves regularly to encourage continual regrowth and tender new foliage.
• Water evenly: Consistent moisture helps produce sweet, crisp leaves and prevents stress.

🌱 Plant Details

• Botanical name: Lactuca sativa
• Plant type: Annual
